You Are A Gem card

Gem card

Today I wanted to make a quick encouragement card to send to the two college students I “coach” through Foster Care to Success.  This gem pattern was a free shape of the week back in June 2014 in the Silhouette Design Store.  I cut the top layer of the gem out of green glitter paper.  I used a Silhouette sketch pen to write the message using the Znikomit font.

I have been watching an interesting online class on Craftsy  called Paper Arts with Alton DuLaney.  One of Alton’s lessons is on “mail art.”  Alton demonstrates how to easily make envelope liners and decorate envelopes.  I didn’t have any pretty new stamps to use for postage so I glued some canceled older stamps on the back of the envelope.  I am looking forward to implementing Alton’s suggestion of buying a variety of stamps from the post office to use for postage as well as envelope decoration.
