This Valentine’s Day card started with gold foiled cardstock and a sheet of vellum. I cut out rows of small hearts from the vellum using the Silhouette Cameo. I thought the vellum looked very pretty over the gold. Gluing the vellum to the gold cardstock was more difficult than I anticipated because the adhesive from both a glue pen and a runner showed through the vellum and looked bad. I added the scalloped border around the vellum to cover up the adhesive. I used ZOTS clear adhesive dots on each corner to hold the border, vellum and gold cardstock together.
I made the Happy Valentine’s Day sentiment by using the Silhouette Cameo to create and then weld “HAPPY” (font Gill Sans Ultra Bold Condensed) to a rectangle shape. I then used a black Silhouette sketch pen to write Valentine’s Day in Znikomit font on the rectangle. The bow is made from paper using this design from the Silhouette Design Store.
I really like working with vellum so I plan to create a few more cards that incorporate it.
