For Veterans Day I wanted to share an experience I had making cards for veterans. My father- and mother-in-law (Tom and Suzie Ray) started a program called The Honor Project at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, Georgia. Program volunteers organize a final wish for hospice patients. Last April they organized a benefit to raise money for the program. AL Chap 28-1 Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association and Columbus Hospice co-sponsored the benefit. A friend helpled me assemble patriotic cards for the benefit. During the benefit event attendees wrote messages in the cards thanking veterans for their service. The cards were then delivered to a nearby veterans hospital.
The Rays are already planning the 2016 benefit for The Honor Project. If any card makers are interested in volunteering to make cards for the event please let me know. I can give you the date and an address for mailing the cards.
