I used two Darice embossing folders and my Cuttlebug to create this Easter card. The Easter cross folder is in yellow. The Flower Frenzy folder is in purple. I hope everyone has a blessed Easter holiday.
I love rosettes. They seem to go perfectly with Valentine’s Day crafts. The paper called “Adore” by Authentique made very pretty rosettes. As usually happens to me I had a few unexpected problem. I used pink heart brads to fasten the vellum to the first card so that adhesive wouldn’t show through the vellum. But I did this as my final step and the brad backs were visible on the inside of the card. (I covered them up with paper hearts.) Another problem was that as I was heat embossing the vellum bits of the embossing powder clung to the vellum around the stamp. I tried blowing on it and tapping the vellum on the table but I couldn’t get rid of the extra sprinkles. If anyone has a way to get rid of these extra sprinkles I would appreciate hearing about it.
Special materials used to make these cards:
Stamp: “be mine” by craft smart from Michael’s Stores
Punch: “Heart” from Martha Stewart
Silhouette Cameo design: 3d rosette by Lori Whitlock
I made this greeting card to send to a few out-of-town relatives to wish them a happy New Year and also to thank them for gifts they sent. I used theSilhouette Cameo print and cut feature for the “celebrate 2015.” I embossed the red background with a Cuttlebug using the Tiny Stars folder from the Paper Studio.
This is my first try at offering a Silhouette Studio file for download. Please let me know if you experience any problems so I can fix it.

I enjoy January because there aren’t too many activities going on and it is a time for new resolutions and projects. I have been writing down inspirational quotes that I like in a journal that was decorated and given to me and my husband by my lovely niece. Below are a few of the quotes.
Happy New Year!
“Keep your face always toward the sunshine and the shadows will fall behind you.” By Walt Whitman
“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” By Leo Tolstoy
“Be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud.” By Maya Angelou
I’m sending these cards and quotes to two college students for encouragement. When I looked on Pinterest for ideas using foiled card stock I saw some beautiful ideas using embossing. The foiled sheets were easy to emboss with folders I already had for my Cuttlebug. They look very shiny and pretty. I included a small card with this nice quote below by A.A. Milne.
Materials used: Cricut Cuttlebug “Birds and Swirls” embossing folder, the Paper Studio Tiny Stars embossing folder, DCWV Foiled Cardstock stack and the quote by A.A. Milne by Kolette Hall in the Silhouette Design Store. The “Believe in yourself” design was included with my Silhouette Cameo.
